Air Jordan V Retro - Independence Day

Hey everyone, firstly I want to apologise for the 3 week gap since the last post. It's been a bit of a difficult time in terms of work at uni and I'm struggling to find much spare time at all! I hope the next few posts that are coming in quick succession will make up for the your long awaited sneaker fix!

Presenting to you, the Air Jordan V Independence day from late 2011. In my opinion this was one of the most slept on releases of that year and went almost unnoticed until early 2012 in the UK! It came as a massive surprise to me because it is such a beautiful sneaker! The upper features a mixed patent and real leather mixture with the classic mesh panels on both sides and the lower tongue. The tip of the tongue is reflective, and there is also the drop shadow 23 on the outer ankle of each foot.

The Jumpman logo graces the tongue and the heel in varsity red. The red matches the teeth on the midsole which are speckled white. The lace locks that have proven popular with fans in the Jordan 5 also returned in this model and they are clear, just like the icy soles that you can see in the picture above on the right. The navy sole and accent on the 23 adds the finishing touches to make this a real patriotic pair of Air Jordan sneaker. The fifth model in the Air Jordan collection was designed by Tinker Hatfield and released in 1990. This proved to be a very fruitful season for MJ in which he scored his personal best of 69 points against Cleveland!

Also, this weekend on November 2nd, the Air Jordan V Laney is getting released. Check out more information about this amazing shoe at NiceKicks on the link below.
